Sophie was in the entertainment world for many years before launching Yogi Times (print counterpart of yogitimes.com) in 2002. It operated for six years in San Francisco and LA. The magazine is an ideal vehicle for everyone in expressing their resourcefulness, passion, and enthusiasm. It exists because of and for the community.

Yoga Journal is regarded as the leading authority on Yoga practice and lifestyle for 40 years. It was founded by the California Yoga Teachers Association in 1975. It provides relevant information about Yoga for both novices and experts. Yoga Journal has print and online versions as well as engages with live audience in reporting about meditation, breathing, health, nutrition, and fresh trends. The publication has 12 international editions in 28 nations and five national live events every year.

The founder is Sujantra McKeever. He was born in San Francisco, California in 1962 and relocated to San Diego in 1980. Sujantra founded Pilgrimage of the Heart Yoga Studio.
